If you ever feel you need a booster of imagination to jump start your creative juices, visit a theme park. It is truly amazing how they can rejuvenate you.
Yesterday was my birthday and I took advantage of Disney's spend your birthday at the happiest place on Earth for free promotion. My son and my niece graciously agreed to help me celebrate. All day long I heard choruses of "Happy Birthday Nancy" from strangers throughout the park. I chose what used to be called MGM studios in Florida (now called Hollywood Studios) It was GREAT! We went early - there was hardly anyone there until nearly lunch time, so we got to see most of the shows and attractions with little or no wait. By the end of the day I was excited and more than ready to sit down to my current work in progress "The Destineers and the Legend of the Netherscape". I was jazzed and easily able to sit and immerse myself in the fantasy world. Sigh. It felt amazing!
What do you do to rejuvenate and get the creative juices flowing? I'd love to hear all about it! Well, I'm off to visit the blogs of my classmates in the blog tours class and see what they are blogging about today. Join me - check out the blogroll on the left hand column!

I garden to rejuvenate, so staying on the computer is my challenge when the weather warms up. In the winter, I'm an avid knitter. Renewal must be something completely different from my work which involved writing and painting. Oh, and exercise. There's nothing like a brisk walk or yoga to clear the cobwebs.
Good start - see ya in class.

Hmmm. So many ways to rejuvenate. A latte and pumpkin scone at Starbucks. Gardening is good. Lie down on the floor, put on headphones, and listen to Peter Frampton, or maybe Toby Keith. Or do a writers' retreat with writerly friends.
Thanks for jumping into the mix with blog comments. This could definitely be addictive... Pat

Happy Birthday, Nancy :-)
I wish we could have birthday parties to rejuvenate - DAILY!
For me, writing is the 'break' from my real work as heart surgeon. Each refreshes me for the other, and the two are tied up in an interesting way, too. A happy synergy.
All success

Hi Dani, Pat and Dr. Mani - thanks for stopping by!
Excellent suggestions from all about ways to rejuvenate...well, plants in my world would NOT agree with the gardening. I seem to be the grim reaper of the plant world - they all tremble with fear when I come near them, draw up their last will and testament and quickly say their goodbyes. It's rather insulting, really (but unfortunately....understandable) I like the latte and pumpkin scone suggestion, though **big grin**
Thank you for the birthday wishes, Dr. Mani. That is very sweet of you. I think the Mad Hatter (from Alice in Wonderland)had the right idea...celebrating your UNbirthdays as well. I bid you all a very happy UNbirthday! Have a great day everyone!
Happy Birthday, Nancy. Just getting up from my desk helps to revive me. Occasionally, I lie down and take a quick nap, but usually I move to a different project, like editing instead of writing or cleaning a part of the house or taking the dog outside.

Nice post. I take nature walks frequently to rejuvenate. And for a REAL shot in the arm, a weeklong rustic camping trip. That's the best. :)
Good job ending this post with a question - that elicits more comments from your readers.
Wow, Disney is a great place to unwind. Happy Birthday! On a daily basis, I like the newspaper and coffee, petting the cats, reading a story to my second-grader, and doing something mindless like laundry...
Great post!

I quilt and knit. I garden and sew. I play with the goats. I drive my MG. I camp and ride the Harley. There's so many wonderful ways to reconnect with what's important.
Karen, Helen, Marvin, Elizabeth, and Karen:
