Must Love Hellhounds by Ilona Andrews (Author), Charlaine Harris (Author), Nalini Singh (Author), Meljean Brook (Author)
Okay, I admit it, I selected this one strictly for its name…after all, who can resist those lovable Hellhounds?!?!

According to Amazon:
In these hound-eat-hound worlds, anything goes… and everything bites. Follow paranormal bodyguards Clovache and Batanya into LuciferÂ’s realm, where they encounter his fearsome four-legged pets, in Charlaine HarrisÂ’s The Britlingens Go to Hell. Seek out a traitor in the midst of a guild of non- lethal vampire trackers, one that intends to eradicate the entire species of bloodsuckers, in Nalini SinghÂ’s AngelsÂ’ Judgment. Find out why the giant three-headed dog that guards the gates of Hades has left the underworld for the real world—and whose scent heÂ’s following—in Ilona AndrewsÂ’s Magic Mourns. Embark on a perilous search for the kidnapped niece of a powerful vampire alongside her blind— and damn sexy—companion and a hellhound in Meljean BrookÂ’s Blind Spot.

Not sure why, but the title "Must Love Hellhounds" is amusing (in a must-read kind of way). Someone was right-on in choosing it.

More vampires? I need some good YA or adult fantasy with no vampires.

Love BOTH the titles, for different reasons. Thanks for the lowdown on the books, Nancy!

Hi everyone - thanks for stopping by for todays fantasy and sci-fi selections. I have to admit, the "Must Love Hellhounds" title made me chuckle!

I know, Patricia, there's a lot of vampire lore out there. It's always been popular but I think Twilight really opened up the floodgates. You might enjoy the Dresden Files series - the main character is a wizard PI - a little mystery, a little fantasy blend, ummmm...but the wizard's half brother is a vampire.

I saw a book named Teenage Blood Sucking Vampires or something like that. I'm like, where do these authors come up with these names? Hilarious.

I used to own a Hellhound, actually. Vet bills, groomer bill, dog-sitter bills, and chew-up-the-furniture bills were my clues. I didn't see any vamps, though. Maybe I just wasn't looking.

Stephen - I hear you, some of the titles definitely catch your attention though!

Galen - you are too funny! Those hellhounds are something else...so warm and uh, toothy!

I prefer ghost stories to vampires, but both of these titles sound interesting. I'm reading Wicked Lovely now, about faeries. It is awesome.

Great post, Nancy.
