This film is amazing. It was made by fans for fans of The Lord of the Ring and is gleaned from the renowned trilogy. This film was made on a shoestring budget and is considerably shorter than any of the theatrical versions of LOTR. This film was released at the Sci-Fi Film Festival in London on May 3.

This film was inspired by notes in the appendices of Tolkien’s trilogy. The story follows Aragon as he sets forth in search of the creature known as Gollum to discover the truth about the ring.

Thanks for stopping by Elizabeth!

This is really a labor of love and done very well by the fans. I waited for the weekend to post because it is a 38 minute clip - but if you are a LOTR fan, it is, as I said, very well done. I think I read their budget was like $5000

I'm not a sci-fi gal, but it's good for me to know what's popular! I like to keep in the loop. Thanks.

Hi Alexis,

I know, fantasy and sci-fi may be huge genres, but definitely not for everyone. Sometimes I feel a little disconnected with the class - not only am I a fantasy writer, I write for kids-young adults. Seems most of the rest of the class is either non-fiction, romance or mystery (I enjoy those genres too, even have a mystery/suspense WIP). Still, there is a lot to be learned not only from the class but each other, and it seems to transcend the genres.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

I watched the trailer--now I have to see the movie. Thanks so much for sharing this.

I'm glad you liked the trailer - I think this project was very well done. From what I have read there were over 100 volunteers and they kept to a pretty nominal budget for film. I think this is a worthy tribute to Middle Earth.

Hi Marvin,

I am so glad you liked it. I am a huge fan too. I was thinking about maybe doing a weekend segment about fantasy books made into films - there are a lot of them out there and it has a kind of weekend-y feel about it :D
